I’m Marian Dougan and Words to good effect is my language and translation blog. But I’d like it to be more than a “translation blog”, “editing blog” or “web-writing blog”. I hope it will appeal to anyone who’s interested in language and all its glorious facets.
There are lots of great blogs on the web – my bookmarks list seems to get longer by the day – and it’s hard to find the time to read even just a small selection of our favourites. So I’ll try to keep posts here short and sweet – promise!
I love language – English in particular. Which is just as well, because I’m a translator (from Italian and French to English) and web editor – you can find out more at my website, DNA Language.
So Words to good effect is about a blog about translation, and about writing, web content, usability, accessibility, language, business and books.
And the other things I like will probably find their way into the blog too: music, art, fashion, architecture, design, typography. Even chocolate. And the list could go on…
You can contact me at: md at dnalanguage dot com. Or by leaving a comment, of course: blogging’s all about dialogue and communication, so the more comments the merrier.
If you’d link to write a guest contribution to this blog, please drop me a line to let me know.
Thanks for visiting Words to good effect.
